Description of πŸ”Œ Enhanced VE.Bus Smart Dongle (Bluetooth) by Victron Energy

The VE.Bus Smart dongle is two products in one: bluetooth accessory and Voltage, Temperature-sense device. The bluetooth accessory for our range of inverter/chargers: Multis, MultiPlusses, MultiPlus-II, MultiGrid, MultiGrid-II, Quattros, and Phoenix Inverters with a VE.Bus port. When installed, use the VictronConnect app to monitor operation and also operate the system: change the input current limit as well as switch between Off, On and Charger-only mod. Can work as a Voltage- and Temperature-sense device for the inverter/charger. This works with all models. For monitoring, the device is a great alternative in caravans, smaller yachts and motor homes for which the Color Control GX or Venus GX are a step too far.

Wrong software version, but usable.

Wrong software version. But they ended up installing a new software update. Pretty cool way to monitor batteries remotely.

Pros
  • VE.Bus Smart Dongle is two products in one: Bluetooth accessory and voltage and temperature sensor
Cons
  • Doubtful

Works perfectly. Limited control functions

Easy connection with standard network cable . The connection to the BT app works immediately. I wish there was more information and ways to program the charging inverter functions.

Pros
  • Bluetooth accessory for our range of inverters/chargers: Multis, MultiPlusses, MultiPlus-II, MultiGrid, MultiGrid-II, Quattros and Phoenix inverters with VE.Bus connection
Cons
  • I will add later

This device provides important data on charging systems and batteries - a game changer! You can use it to monitor the power consumption of each device drawing power from the system and set high and low battery alerts via Bluetooth. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • For surveillance this unit is a great alternative in RVs, small yachts and RVs where the Color Control GX or Venus GX is too far away.
Cons
  • Dear

Incorrect software version. But they ended up installing a new software update. Pretty cool way to monitor batteries remotely.

Pros
  • Once installed, use the VictronConnect app to monitor operation and control the system: change the input current limit and toggle between off and on and "charger only".
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Very limited control for an $80 device

I bought it by mistake thinking it could replace the MK2 USB device to connect to my Multiplus. It works with an inverter, but with this device you can only connect to the Victron Connect app to monitor your system, you cannot connect to a PC to use VEConfigure. The Victron Connect app is extremely limited, you cannot really set up the device as advertised by Victron. They might do so in the future with more updates to the app, but for now this dongle just doesn't do much for its high price.

Pros
  • Can act as an inverter/charger voltage and temperature sensing device. It works with all models
Cons
  • Weight
