ViewSonic VX2458 MHD Monitor with 🖥️ FreeSync, Flicker-Free, 1920X1080P, 144Hz, Anti-Glare, HDMI - VX2458-MHD Review

Upgraded from a 23" ViewSonic that was about 10 years old. I bought 2 of the 24" curved monitors for a dual setup. For their price they are perfect. My GPU has 3 different outputs: 1 HDMI, 1 DisplayPort, 1 DVI. I had to make some contrast and color adjustments on one monitor to suit it, but I believe the difference could be down to the HDMI and DisplayPort connections. The monitor is excellent, there are no dead pixels, the picture quality is excellent. The only issue I have is that the stand is very tall and not adjustable. If you don't mind a big monitor, this will suit you.

I put it up for sale during Black Friday and a few months later it's still a really solid monitor. The only thing I would complain about is that the built in speakers are a little weak, but honestly for the price I paid I can't really complain about that.

Bright and crisp for desktop and gaming, the speakers can be used for a monitor but are a bit quiet. The stand was high where I needed it, so I replaced it with the adjustable Vesa 75mm stand that it has.

Easy to set up. The monitor has a clear depth image. I don't use sound in my setup. I added this as a work monitor 3 and have been very happy with the performance of the monitor.

Connected to my Super 2070 via DisplayPort, the default monitor was 60Hz, after updating the driver and changing from 60 to 144 via the NVIDIA Control Panel, the difference in mouse movement on the screen was immediately noticeable. It's not an OMG difference, but you can definitely tell. Definitely not the best monitor, but if you want a 144Hz refresh rate + 1ms response time, it's about as cheap as it gets.

However, be aware that a 1440p monitor will look terrible at 1080p, so make sure you have a good GPU. I say 3060 and above is the way to go.

Price + size - that's maybe the only positive. You will have a halo no matter what. The monitor's internal settings can only help given the cheaper panel used. For those unfamiliar, Ghosting looks like the old version of Trace-Pointers in Windows XP. Every movement on the screen leaves a "ghost trail". affects the height of the halos. Overall surprising for the price. However, what holds this monitor back is the low overall brightness. Virtually useless in a bright room. I use it in a dark room so it works for me, but I don't recommend this monitor if you intend to use it for gaming in a room with lots of natural light.

The picture quality of this monitor is acceptable for the price, however the built-in speakers/amplifiers are not powerful enough. At 100% volume I can barely hear it (and I have good hearing). I had to buy a set of speakers with external amplification that connected to a PC and bypassed the monitor. If that doesn't bother you or you already have speakers, the picture quality is acceptable for the price.

Was a great monitor for gaming, a little dark but great picture for the price. However, the combination of such a heavy monitor and poor stand design caused my monitor to "fall face first" after impacting the table. It only took a month and a half. I wish it had a better stand so I could keep using it but now it's unusable.
