I received them the other day and tried them for the first time today. 40 degrees, 75 miles per hour. They protected my feet well from freezing compared to regular jeans. I'm a leatherworker so I can safely say I can't make two types with the same high quality materials. I think it's pigskin, that's tough but still soft enough. so that they are comfortable to wear. Of course you can get much higher quality chaps. If you want status and style, opt for more expensive chaps. I have a 50 inch waist so I bought 5X. The bottom is cut along the length of the inseam.

Too long is actually a PRO because it's so easy to trim the legs to the right length without hems. My pants were three inches too long for my very short legs, but I just cropped them and fastened them with the remaining two buttons.
