Your heirs will be fighting over who gets that shaving bowl!

The shaving bowl has three functions. 1.) Create a rich, thick, creamy lather. 2.) Hold it securely in your hand. . Constructed of durable stainless steel, it meets and exceeds all three criteria. By way of background, let me mention that I've used a lot of cheap and inexpensive ceramic shaving bowls that I bought at thrift stores and flea markets. I've been advocating buying these cheaper bowls for quite some time. However, after bringing home a few of my 99-cent pottery prizes, chips or…

It is not easy! for shaving soap

Always worried about dropping a mug and creating a minefield on the bathroom floor I gave it a try. And now I'm wondering why I haven't been able to do this for so long! It fits perfectly in the palm of my hand and is large enough to create good lather; Another thing I like is that dirt doesn't "collect" on the bottom of this mug like a mug does, since all of the foam can't be removed from the mug without removing it every time to wash when you use it. . It also heats up quickly in the sink and

Beautiful simplicity

I really like this shaving bowl. The textured stainless steel finish feels good in the hand and looks great. A few things to note for new users: If you're using this with soap, the 3-inch model is too small for some razor blades, but you can easily rub the soap into the bowl. To be honest I think this is the best way to use a soap washing machine anyway as you can rub part of the block and save the rest of the block for later. Ideally you should use both this bowl and one. Search the internet…

Perfect lid and extra foam bowl

So I originally bought these to use with shaving soap but found them too small and had to buy a Grand Chair shaving bowl. Well yes I have. Both bowls work well, they are heavy and don't lean and also work great with the heavy viking brush. So far it's really high quality and the surface inside the bowl encourages frothing better than a porcelain bowl. The only problem is that I can't microwave the soap, but the standard washing machine still sticks well. First I thought about what to use as the

Shaving is no longer scary!

This is a wet shaving test with DE. I remember how excited I was when I had to start shaving and felt like a grown man until shaving became a little bane in my existence. I have a tough trifecta beard, it grows fast and my skin is very sensitive. For various reasons I never grew a beard and shaving was an unbearable chore, ingrown hairs and razor burn were very common and when I had something to do with sweat it also caused a lot of itching. Today is my third week of shaving with Emperor and I…

Amazing quality.

The overall quality of this bowl is amazing. It feels good in the hand, the texture is shiny, it has a nice firm weight. It even makes a very pleasant sound when you tap something on it. However, it didn't keep the water warm for very long, and most surprisingly, my viking brush didn't fit in so it could soak in warm water. When I put the brush in, it either knocked over the bowl or the brush fell out due to its weighted base. That being said, if you don't soak your brush in a bowl, I think…

Excellent product, quality product. Highly recommended!

I was tired of spending money on disposable razors and wanted to improve my shaving skills. I ended up buying the entire VIKING set (brush, bowl/soap, stand, double-sided handle and 50 spare blades). Although the initial cost was higher than cartridge razors, I had already saved money within a month. . You can easily spend $30 for a pack of 4 good cartridges. Even if you use 1 of these blades for 1 week the blade comes with 2 starter blades and a spare set of 50 which I bought. You could easily

Great bowl, but get a big one!

My first soap dish. Love it. The thick metal feels good in the hand and is easy to hold while spinning. Looks clean and stylish, the finish goes well with the Rockwell 6S. I dip my brush in it when I shower, it keeps it warm for a warm lather shave. It doesn't have any ridges or bumps but the inside is rough, almost porous to the touch, lathers great, I even managed to lather up with dish soap when cleaning my new brush (also Vikings Blade). It's a bit small for 3-pass foam. Looking for a great

Not a big fan of the bowl rim.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of this bowl. It's a bit small (for some, this is a plus). What I'm really not a fan of (and this can only be my inexperience) is that a curved lip will cause foam to pool around the edges and eventually squirt out. I find it impossible to keep the foam in the bowl itself without spilling a lot of material from the sides. I went with a marble bowl instead, it has a sharper rim that seems to prevent foam from building up around the edges and it instead builds up on…
