The product is well made and fits the cable well. The only problem is that it's too short for my project. I am using 4 x 4 post covers for the deck railing and the cover is 4 1/2 inches wide. This needle should be at least two inches longer to make it easier to thread the cable through the holes in the frame.

A lacing needle should be used when threading cable through post. The ends of a stranded cable can very easily get caught and fray. The worn end is much more difficult to thread or push through the SwiftCatch fitting. This only works if you want to drill holes for wires larger than the minimum diameter that the 1/8 inch wire will go through. The holes required for a snug fit on 1/8" wire are 5/.32". The needle didn't go through the 5/32" hole so I didn't use it. I didn't see anywhere in the description that that it says it needs a hole larger than 5/32" to fit the needle through a 2" x 2" steel pin. I have a new unused needle in the original box for sale.
