Vitamix Classic Black Tamper - Enhance Blender Performance! Review

This is how I learned that you shouldn't use your Vitamix until you've had your morning coffee. One morning I made a smoothie and stuck the dissection tool in the vitamin WITHOUT the lid. Needless to say, I woke up pretty quickly when I heard the GRRNG, GRRNG noise coming out of my mixer. To Vitamix's credit, he just kept mixing. This idiot is strong. I now have a new piling tool and have learned not to use it with the lid closed! :)

Good product. Would give it 5 stars but it doesn't feel like a genuine Vitamix product. I have had real Vitamix mashers and they are always labeled accordingly. It was not. And that's good, except it was ordered from what was sold under the Vitamix brand name. If that's the real deal, my fault. This rammer broke 1 1/2 months after purchase. As many other photos posted by other buyers. In addition, it goes very well with our vitamin. I don't think this is a true vitamin product or am sure it would have lasted many years like my first one. I would give more stars if there was a way to glue or fix it yourself, but after reading other reviews it seems like using glue to put it back together doesn't work in many cases.

I ripped out my tamper tool - yes, I know you're only supposed to use the tamper with the VM cover, but somehow I did I skipped this step ONCE. Warning: Vitamix blades are very unforgiving. Totally my fault. This replacement tamper is exactly the same as the one in my original Costco VM. (I checked the VM model numbers before purchasing.) *Updated below* I had this a few months ago. It does its job of pushing the contents of my smoothie into the blender. I compared it to my original Vitamix masher and it's a little shorter. Checked on the Vitamix website and the original tanker was 12.75 inches. This tamper is 12 inches. I have a 64 ounce container of the vitamin blender. Although I saw in the last review that it's not the same as the original vitamin tamper, previous reviews said it was the perfect replacement so I decided to buy it anyway. I regret that decision. wrong when it says it fits in a 64 ounce container - it's a full inch shorter than the regular tamper I got with my vitamin purchase. Also, the measurements are wrong - only 11 1/2 inches long (not 12 as stated in the description at the very bottom).

I accidentally broke my Vitamix masher and was very upset at the cost of replacing it. I saw this on Revain and decided to give it a try.
