I have had a Vornado humidifier for many years and I am very satisfied. Filters are a different story. I find them inconsistent from order to order. The ones I bought in 2020 were excellent, the ones I got this year are a bit thicker than previous years and seem to slow the release of moisture into the air. I've also used fake brands. Big mistake. You've only sucked up water halfway through the filter! At least Vornado filters always work! By the way, filters are designed to trap dirt and bumps

Very disappointed with this product. It does not absorb water to wet the entire material. The top half or more of the filter dries up and turns an ugly brown and very unattractive to the eye. We service a water softener so mineral buildup is not a problem. I tried wetting the entire wick when refilling the water jugs but the problem remained the same. I replaced the wicks as suggested, cleaned and did everything I could to keep this humidifier working. All have failed. If you have more than 1/2

I don't know which is worse: a rainbow of colors fading to black on small permanent set metal mesh wick filters, or permanent set metal mesh wick filters that get wet and crumble, no metal mesh. I use it to humidify my large bedroom and master bathroom. Not large enough for the whole house as advertised, which is not uncommon for most stand alone whole house humidifiers. Buy a bigger unit than you think you need, it's easy to reduce humidity, but if there's not enough power for your space, it's useless. That works great. I bought these filters twice hoping maybe I just got a bad batch the first time. I also bought a different size for my other Vornado humidifier. After about the first week, the filter began to completely disintegrate, dry out, and turn brown. I tried flipping it and the second time I bought them I tried not to flip it.
