Description of 🔧 VOTEX - DP001 Stainless Steel Engine Oil Drain Plug (M14 x 1.5 X 18 MM) - Made in USA with Powerful Neodymium Magnet

PREMIUM QUALITY - Our Votex drain plugs are MADE IN USA. From the Stainless Steel bar stock material, CNC machine that cuts our plug right down to the hands that craft each individual one. We carefully and pridefully construct our plugs here in our home state of Wisconsin. This ensures that your plug will be manufactured with real quality stainless steel (Not Pot Metal) that will last for countless years to come. Included with the drain plug is an aluminum crush washer. HIGH TEMPERATURE NEODYMIUM MAGNET – Our plug uses a rare earth high strength neodymium magnet, rated specifically to function in high temperature environments extracting unwanted ferrous particles from your vehicles engine. Neodymium magnets are one of the strongest magnets available on the planet, giving the strength to hold weights over 2.2lbs. This empowers our plug with enormous strength to effectively pull these unwanted metals out of your motor oil resulting in longer engine life. PREMIUM STAINLESS STEEL – The drain plug market has a plethora of options which are constructed of aluminum. Aluminum is an inferior metal choice due to its strength and commonly shear/snap leaving you with a broken plug stuck in your oil pan. Our goal is to provide plugs of the highest quality standard, that starts with using a metal that will be strong enough to last years. Our steel is sourced from the states, promising not to be a weak recycled material often found in foreign metals. PROMISED PERFORMANCE - Our drain plugs use choice quality materials. Our magnet will extract small metal particles that are too fine for oil filters to catch along with capturing large metal shavings that plug filters. If you're not 100% satisfied with its quality or performance, return your drain plug for a full refund!. EASY TO INSTALL - Our plug will install in place of your current drain plug. It will arrive with an aluminum crush washer which is recommend to be replaced with every oil change. Simply wipe the magnet clean of debris during oil change. USE AMAZON FITMENT DROP DOWN, EMAIL OR ASK A QUESTION TO ENSURE THIS WILL WORK WITH YOUR VEHICLE. [ SEE PRODUCT DETAILS BELOW FOR MORE DETAILED INFORMATION ] - USES 17MM WRENCH. Delivery problem Revain

drain plug is much better than factory. The original drain plug had a hex head that was easily removed with a 10mm wrench. This hex bolt uses a 17mm or 11/16" wrench and is very strong. The magnet is a plus. The problem is that for some reason Revain is sending me a drain plug wrapped in bubble wrap and not in the original unsealed container. Without crushing seal is useless.

Pros
  • Ease of use

  • Useless features

Read before you buy

The magnet has come loose from the bolt and is sticking to the outside of the oil pan. While this is indicative of the strength of the magnet, imagine if this happened in the oil pan threads or worse inside the oil pan. I would think before buying. It also seemed unusually difficult to thread by hand, and no, it wasn't criss-cross. So much so that I secured it and that's when the magnet came loose. Will I take the risk of using this product? No, from now on I'll stick with oil analysis to look…

Fits 2020 5.7 Ram fits oil drain plugs

It's well made in the USA. I read reviews from many of them. Many of these were cheaply made of aluminum and broke. The thing is solid. The magnet is super strong as many have said. It will pull it sideways so much you might think it won't fit. Take your time, be careful not to cross the thread. It was fantastic to have such a new vehicle, they were so quick to respond when I asked if it would fit here. I ordered an extra pack of washers. "Required for your second use. Come with one. Something…

Now I have a lot more passion for my drain plugs!

This isn't the part most people like, seems a little pricey for a plain drain plug but not crazy. I have a pair, one for my two monteros. Very impressed with their quality and durability! Like the size of the screw head, the magnet is very strong, even the washer was very good. Perfect fit for me but as mentioned it was actually a bit difficult to get it into the oil pan hole as the magnet was strong enough to deflect the bolt away from the hole which was impressive! Great buy so far! I wanted…

Although it fits the 2007 Explorer, this will not fit.

Oil drain plug is very tight. The threads appeared to match the stock Ford connector but were much tighter. No visible damage was done as I installed it slowly and constantly checked for cross threads or thread mismatch. The thread was profiled like the original, but was still very difficult to turn. After installation it keeps dripping. I left it running until my next oil change (I do a weekly PMCS regularly so I can watch for oil leaking from the plug) and I had a quart of oil leaking from a…

USE THE DAMN WASHING MACHINE ONCE AND COSTS NO MONEY.

The description vaguely states that the washing machine is for single use and is only listed at the very bottom of the one line description page and does not include a replacement part. However, they do offer additional washers for $15 on top of the drain plug price of $25. (ridiculous price). When I contacted the seller they were very rude and basically called me stupid for not knowing it was a disposable washing machine. I will never buy anything from this person again. Now let's move on to…

Pros
  • High score for support and durability from testers

Are aluminum washers required/included?

I recently read an article on an automotive discussion site about the benefits of oil drain plugs that have a strong magnet as part of their design. And in that discussion, the Votex brand was mentioned as a good thing. I did a little research to find out where to buy a Votex connector and my search turned to Revain. As I was planning to change the oil in both of my cars I verified the correct part number for my cars and placed the order. That was about a month ago. I received the spark plugs…
