Magnetic halves - 5 stars!

Great price! Any can becomes a portable pallet with these magnetic halves. The magnets are easy to stick on like stickers and prevent the halves from slipping in the mould. They are strong enough to hold the halves in place when placed vertically and even upside down (after the paint has dried). I gradually premix my tube mixes between two colors sorted in mint jars, using tape to mark the side of each half of the tray. They stay in place even if you gently press the brush to activate the dried

Never again. by painting

These pots are approx. I bought a pack of 50 pieces. They were ok short 3 but overlooked. I needed a few more and ordered a second pack. They came with very bumpy, miscut edges. So bad I took my Dremmel and filed the edges. Filling pots is tedious, but it's taken to the extreme. I was reading J. Blundell's blog and she mentioned Meeden pans. I ordered them to see if there is a difference. Wow. You are top notch. High-quality frying pans from W&N. In fact, I am discussing the possibility of…

Great for your own colors you like

I had a couple of half panels that I got from a Windsor Newton set, a magnetic strip you can cut off to attach to the underside of the half panels , so they don't slide back and forth into the Meeden Palette, which I also bought here. I like the metallic finish because the watercolor doesn't clump, lays evenly, and the color comes through evenly. That's why I don't like plastic pallets. It's awesome, plus you can take an ultra fine marker and mark the name of each color on the side of the half.

Pans are great - magnets aren't that important

I have several pan shapes and I love switching my halves between them depending on what I'm working on. Pans slide back and forth on a metal strip on one of the pallets. I thought magnets would be perfect for holding them in place but unfortunately once the magnet is placed on the bottom the pan becomes too tall to fit in the channel. In addition, the magnets are very weak and the pan will still slide over whatever metal surface you use. If you buy them hoping the magnets will help you will be…

I'm glad I bought these halves

I bought these to replace the plastic pans that came with my Pretty Excellent watercolors. I didn't care because I couldn't put my brushes in a metal can. Enter these beauties. It took some wiggling to get the paint out of the plastic bowls (each of the colors are glued on) but once you removed them they went into the halves of the bowls. Full Disclosure - I actually had to press the paint in half so don't expect them to just slide in. But they fit perfectly and the magnets (the reason I bought

Just buy it. That's the best sentence.

They are absolutely perfect. I have decided to return to painting after more than a decade. I was convinced that my colors would be useless, so I looked for a ready-made palette and tried it, but it turned out to be useless. I figured for $6.99 I could try using my old tubes instead of spending a decent amount to try a different pan. I am shocked at their quality. I used my old Prismacolor chalk box (pack of 24) and it fits all 50 crayons perfectly and has room for a couple of brushes. Yes, I…

Great set for the price, well worth it

I bought a set of 48 empty tins. It arrived on time, only 53 pans. That's five extra pans, which I really appreciate. It was packaged fairly well, in a double bag, which was great in case the outside bag ripped. I think a more durable external pocket could have been better, but it was still good enough. They are exactly the same size as the halves that were in my palette. They are not as well made as you may feel a slight roughness or see small "burrs" at the top of the pan. It's only really…
