Short circuit on first rain

I bought this to have an on/off switch between the trailer battery and the electric jack. After the first heavy rain it stopped working, I replaced the first switch installed and the problem was solved. I would not recommend mounting the switch horizontally where it might be exposed to the elements.

Good value for money.

Works as it should for a fraction of what these parts are sold for. I have used mine in a DC powered cab and although they are rated for 30 amps I always prefer to have the switch drive the relay coil on the load side of the switch as there are fewer amps going through the switch and the relay a higher one Electricity generates switching power Electricity.

exceeds my expectations

I love the feel, the functionality and the look. I haven't been able to test the water resistance but I don't think that will be an issue given the wear and tear and the way I place them. They are only used as switches for the LED lights on my boat so I cannot attest that they will work with higher amperage devices. I also suspect that any installation issues mentioned in the reviews could be due to poor wiring, which can be a little confusing. My only criticism would be how bright the LEDs on…

Non-standard connection, cheap plastic nut

The first thing to understand is that the long center pin goes to the load - which is what you want to turn on and off. One of the side pins is for power (battery or AC adapter), the other side pin is for ground. If you accidentally connect power or ground to the center pin, you could get a short! The switch works fine, but the pin layout is different than most automotive backlit switches. The switch looks good except for the plastic nut holding it in place at the back. The nut is very cheap…

erh What's included: Spare parts

For what I use they are fine. Personally I wouldn't run large amps/watts through them (I don't), so use a relay if you want. I don't expect heavy use either. I understand the schematic on the back of the switch is wrong, so give them a call before powering them up. It would be nice if contact funds were available on their Revain page. I ended up ordering 4 more just to have extras if they fail. 3 out of 5 stars for lack of contact and average to poor quality Revain merchandise.

Be careful. The load terminal is either connected to ground or to the power supply!

Although the part number says it is SPST, it is actually SPDT with one of the outputs permanently connected to ground (GND) as shown in the picture. If you want one of the switches to power the second switch (by connecting the first switch's load to the second switch's power supply) AND want the LED to work on the second switch, then close the main switches. a power source that may cause a fire depending on the power source.
