cool product for internal components

I was replacing a Wathai single speed unit that I had been using to improve ventilation (and reduce heat build-up) in my home entertainment center unit. I bought the first model due to concerns about heat build up in the closed compartment of my Denon AVR-X3700H receiver but found it too loud. This variable speed model allowed me to adjust the speed so that the audio didn't disturb the quiet parts of movies or music. At the chosen speed, I regularly check the top of the receiver and didn't find

Pros
  • 1 year trial
Cons
  • New competitors

Well done, works as expected.

My Nvidia Xp gets very hot when I max my flight simulator and since my PC is on a test bench an external cooling source is needed. I knew that some noise was to be expected at maximum throttle, but with the flight simulator running the motor noise drowns out the fan noise.

Pros
  • Complete kit
Cons
  • Very expensive

Used for closet ventilation

I had a moldy closet that accidentally had an unused HVAC chamber in the wall and was next to a 115v outlet. Installed the fan inside the cabinet with the provided grille to protect it. He went through the plenum into the next room. Adjusted fan speed to make howling almost inaudible. No more musty in the closet!

Pros
  • Nice view
Cons
  • Bad set

Ideal for 3D printing cases.

This is the fan I bought for the FDM print case. It does exactly what I need it to do: clear smoke and heat while being quiet enough while I'm working within a few feet. It can pull air through the dryer vent through 5 feet of flexible tubing and the speed control gives me good control over the case temperature when I want to print ABS or similar. I was going to order a second one for my resin printer but it wasn't available at the time so I ordered another brand that looks and works exactly…

Pros
  • Features a multi-speed controller that adjusts fan speed for optimal noise and airflow levels.
Cons
  • Not sure

Quiet fan, but adjusting the speed may take some work!

I bought this fan for the WhisperRoom (music booth) that I use for recording. I need a fan that circulates air so it doesn't get too hot inside and is quiet enough not to disturb the recording. This is a very quiet fan at low speed, and the faster it runs, the louder it runs. to be expected. Speed control could be better. When I initially set the fan to its lowest setting and turn the knob to run faster, the fan hits max speed halfway through, so there's not really a speed throttling from full…

Pros
  • The power supply increases the maximum fan speed and allows you to power the fan from an outlet.
Cons
  • boring packaging
