Very poor quality product. We were able to see the SSID and connect, but packets were dropped and performance was terrible. We then tested and pinged a client a few inches from the access point and more packets were dropped than transmitted. When I tried to send it back I found that the return policy didn't allow me to return it. DISSATISFIED!

Wavlink AC600 - great product! I use it as a repeater to get wifi at a guest house 500ft from my home router. I stream videos to a TV (with Firestick) with no problems due to speed drops from the AC600, and the guest house has a full Wi-Fi signal everywhere. Update 7/28/2017 Switched the unit to repeater mode and it worked fine in our timeshare. I decided to hook up a cheap $28 NETGEAR ROUTER that "was bought at Wal-Mart this week." I was amazed that it worked very well. I placed the wavlink on the railing on the balcony 30 meters away and placed the router in the basement coming out of the bedroom. I only use this as a repeater so I can't comment on other features of this device. I use it camping with a fifth wheel. I could barely get a signal from the WiFi router in my RV. I tried several Netgear extenders but my problem was that the signal was already muted when it arrived. This device solved my problems by amplifying it before entering the RV. It doesn't stay connected to my router and the power cuts out from time to time. The problem was the POE module, apparently it's very cheap. Customer service is terrible too, they don't respond to emails.

The WiFi extender to the backyard or even our boat dock works great. just back off There should be an outlet nearby and the outlet should be sheltered from rain. Otherwise, the WLAN module itself can be placed anywhere outdoors.
