That works fine. This is just your typical diffusion cap.

Works perfectly. This is a common diffusion coating material. Just remember that when using, put some diffuse material on and around your lamp stand before setting up your light and putting on your umbrella. Otherwise, you will need to disassemble the entire cover to install and properly fasten the diffusion cover.

Pros
  • Perfect match for studio flashes
Cons
  • No instructions

How to turn the umbrella into a large softbox.

I have had a Westcott 7ft White Reflex Umbrella for a long time and although I liked it I have only used it occasionally. But with the white reflective fabric, this umbrella becomes another beast and my favorite modifier. The light exits the shade like a 7ft round softbox, flooding everything in its path with soft light. It's pretty amazing. If you have or will have one of Westcott's 7 inch reflective umbrellas, you may need one of these.

Pros
  • Create an octa glass effect
Cons
  • I will write back

A great addition to a great mod

Great option for any 7ft parabola. I bought one for each of my two meter Westcott umbrellas (one is silver and the other is white). You may lose some light, but the cover turns your umbrella into a massive softbox. The hole in the center of the diffusion cap is big enough for my Alien Bees to fit through. Here's a tip for installing the cover - don't try to put it on an open and secured umbrella (you don't have enough arms to reach both sides). Instead, take a closed umbrella and insert it…

Pros
  • Single point diffused light
Cons
  • Not sure
