Better left handed. My husband is left-handed but cleans with his right hand. This cleans up quite nicely, but again, there's a learning curve.

My right hand wasn't working and I started brushing in the opposite direction (up instead of down). Then I used my left hand and worked a little better. I will not buy again.

That's exactly what I remember from Germany. I had the same model and I really liked it, so of course I looked for it in the States and found it. Smooth cleaning, convenient pointed nozzle on top to remove unnecessary or unhealthy parts. And I like how it looks. Again and again the Westmark peeler!

The knife only works if you pull it towards you which poses a real risk of cutting your hand on the razor sharp blade. The worst design I've ever seen. Very disappointing. I usually love Westmark products. It also doesn't have an ergonomic shape and it hurts to hold it in your hand.

We've had another model of this unit for decades and we love it. Somehow they threw it away with the shell. We were hoping it would be just as great but the grip is not good at all and too small to have a good grip. Don't know if it was as sharp as our other one because we sent it back unused. We would have liked a different pen. It was great and it had the same blade.

I started using this type of peeler over 25 years ago when we were working in Germany and joining a German-American cooking group. I liked it from the start and have never used any other kind since. In my opinion it's much easier to peel fruits and vegetables by pulling the peel towards you than pushing it away. This is my very first replacement.

I have had one of these German vegetable peelers for many years and have given my daughter a second one as she loved it so much. She wanted one for her other house out west, and I went in search of her. Although the handle is different, the blade is the same. I think it will do her good. Don't be fooled by the minimalist design, this is a professional quality tool. I am a home bar enthusiast and have tried many cleaning tools/knives. This kills them all.
