Inexpensive, durable, well made

I bought these picks for gun purposes and they have served me well so far. The only thing I highly recommend is to CAREFULLY LUBRICATE the main screw before use. My vise arrived from the factory with a thin coating of protective oil - just like yours. So you need to lubricate the screw - I used plain molybdenum grease - before using it. Also check the screw head bearing (the part that connects the screw to the moving part of the vise) for proper seating. Mine was tight and therefore the vise…

Pros
  • VERSATILE FUNCTIONALITY: Designed for applications such as drilling, tapping and reaming.
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Jaws aside, this is a very good vise.

You'd think Wilton Tools would know how to adjust vise jaws, but apparently they don't! One side has a full-width groove and a vertical center groove. The rest of the jaws are smooth. It looks like Wilton Tools needs to talk to people who use their products. By nature they have never used a vise. Try holding a round object in a horizontal groove to pierce. Doesn't hold up after applying some pressure from the drill. I assume the buyer would have to pay half the cost of the vise to get another…

Pros
  • COMPACT DESIGN: Low profile spacing for more work surface on the machine table.
Cons
  • Expensive

Premium Vise - Vise

I bought this vise to use on a router table that I added to my drill press. A milling vise would be overkill, but I still needed something with the base parallel to the top of the vise. otherwise it would be very difficult to set it up for fairly accurate work. You can't go wrong with these vices. The information in the specs leaves a lot to be desired, but that's my only criticism. I purchased the 6" version of the vise and have uploaded a drawing showing approximate dimensions of the base in…

Pros
  • STURDY CONSTRUCTION: Fine-grain cast iron and hardened steel vise jaws.
Cons
  • Crumpled
