Great truck! on vice

Excellent vice. Durable and very tough. Well done. The quick reset function works well. The outer jaw contains a second jaw that rotates so you can clamp items of different widths. It also shows up to serve as a dog. I removed this second jaw because once it is in place it is very difficult to clamp a piece of wood on only one side of the lead screw. But I see myself using it for non-parallel spans. Comes with magnetic maple pads as shown; It's a good idea, but they move around a bit as theโ€ฆ

Easy install - best quality

Best quality. I have three of these in my shop - the rest have been in use for over 25 years. I couldn't remember any Remember problems with previous installations. I don't understand what is wrong with the setting. Mine was ready and working in 8 minutes! Drill 4 holes in a 3" workbench. Insert the carriage bolts into the holes. Assemble the Place a new vise on a bench or large box under the workbench and add washers under the vise until the vise rises --- to where it needs to be fastenedโ€ฆ

Great vise but check the face face alignment.

Sturdy vise with beautiful shapes and carvings. However, I am concerned about the quality control. While most Wilton products are made in the USA, it is a Taiwanese product. When I arrived I noticed that the secondary (sloping) surface was not properly clamped, with ground contact and 1/8 inch clearance at the top. Stationary surfaces are clamped flush and everything is fine. I don't know why the product is so far out of tolerance, it may have left their facility. I commend Revain for getting a

Excellent features

The instrument arrived properly packaged and undamaged upon delivery. Installation was pretty easy. I removed the table top, turned it over and screwed the vise back into place. After replacing the tabletop with supports, I tried different types of mounts. Compared to my old vise, the vise holds much better and doesn't require much turning of the jaws. Minuses:. Wooden paneling of the cheeks. The magnetic back is a good idea, but the grip is too weak and the pads sometimes slip into the jawsโ€ฆ

When it's good to have a new vise

This is the second Wilton vise I have used in the last 10 years. I recently moved and installed an old Wilton on my desktop in an old house. It held up well, but the sliding feature was almost useless. I'm glad to see that this model has been redesigned and I love the square steel channel that covers the main screw. Should really protect from dust. I chose to attach it with four screws instead of using lag screws. Screws are more positive and easier to install. Much easier than my last setupโ€ฆ
