Nice but expensive item for kitchenware and gadgets

This colander is good for everything you need a colander for. It's big so it can hold a lot of things. However, I needed a colander so I bought one from Amazon but found that there are many cheaper ones you can get if you just need a basic colander elsewhere like the 99 cent store. Don't forget your brick-and-mortar stores. That being said it seems to be the best quality and more than the typical ones you will find at really cheap prices.

Just a good filter

There's nothing more to add. It's durable and the mesh allows you to drain almost anything. I use a pasta strainer and angel hair comes out of the filter holes; I use this and none of that nonsense. Of course, what you can put in is limited by its size, but it's still a great colander! In case you're wondering, the two tabs on the front are used to position the strainer over a vessel like a saucepan that will catch the drained liquid. The third point of contact will be the grip.

This one has been good and strong for the last few months and I .

I bought one of these from a local store many years ago and the handle broke. This one has been good and sturdy for the past few months and I'm not sure what I would have done without one of these. There is a small hook on the edge of the handle that can be easily hung at arm's length. Just today I used it to wash a jar of beans and my friend used it to wash cherries. Most of the time we leave it on the edge of the bowl to drain the water before packing the berries or grape tomatoes. Excellent…

Very comfortable size - excellent quality.

Very comfortable size - excellent quality. I have a smaller stainless steel manual strainer that I've had for probably over 40 years. This has more capacity and a finer sieve. This is a good intermediate size between a small strainer and a large handle strainer. Wooden handle in stainless steel frame, comfortable to hold. There are two small "hooks" on the outer edge so you can clip it or place it on top of a pot or bowl so it can sit and drain liquids. I have found it very helpful in…

Winco MS3A-8D filter forces!

Do you have something that holds liquid and you only need liquid and nothing else? Allow me to introduce the Winco MS3A-8D sieve! It separates some of your delicious (or unpleasant) liquid in 3 easy steps! 1) Place the screen on the support structure. A big enough pot works great in my case when I want to store liquid. 2) Pour a mixture of liquid and some into a colander. 3) Be careful not to overfill the colander or pot - this can lead to disastrous results! And it really is that simple…

Ideal for use with quinoa.

I bought this specifically for quinoa after reading other reviews on here. I've just discovered quinoa and love to try different recipes and preparations, so this product has gotten quite a bit of work over the past few weeks. By far my favorite quinoa salad, made with dried apricots, golden raisins, chopped almonds and lime zest dressing, lime juice, a drizzle of olive oil, finely chopped jalapeños, and a sprinkling of cumin and/or coriander. Sounds weird, I know, but scents work. This is the…

Not for self defense. Great for Kinoa.

Great little strainer. I intended to build a kitchen full of tools one could use for self-defense when needed (cast-iron skillets, non-stick measuring cups, industrially durable anything), but when it came to a fine-enough strainer for quinoa and other cereals, they just pulled it I don't make them with such weight and durability. So it was a compromise, but I would choose it again. She seems to be good at all sorts of activities EXCEPT defending against the evil ninjas. Stresses our swan…

ATTENTION: knock the piece of wood out of the handle or suffer

I have had this colander for almost 2 years and I like it. Will not rust, perfectly washes quinoa and everything else. Last night I heard a click and felt a burning pain and unbearable pressure in the middle joint of my middle finger. The wooden part moved slightly and then snapped back into place, and part of my finger became trapped between the metal and the wood. I couldn't let go of my other hand because then the whole weight of the thing would be dangling from my finger, so I yelled at my…

Very nice old fashioned colander - just what I was looking for!

This is a superb strainer. Good volume, not too deep, but not too flat. I've been looking for a replacement strainer for a very long time - my grandmother finally gave up her breath (30 years since her death, and the strainer was old then). I don't know if it's from the same manufacturer, but everything about this saddle is identical to theirs. I estimate that the original lasted about 60 years. If I can get 1/3 of that performance from this filter, I'll get more than good performance from it…
