Although difficult to clean unless you have a spray attachment, this is a great rice strainer. Nothing escapes the network.

It's great that I found a simple, well-made colander that my mother always had. She wouldn't let me steal it when I moved out!

Something about these cheap wooden handled screens puts my mind at rest. I like to buy once every 10 years and then smash it until it falls apart. I like wearing these things and then replacing them. A decade seems like a good value to me. This is my fourth in 40 years

What can I say Everyone needs a colander like this I've always wanted one, but a special need made me buy it. Reminds me of the ones in my mother's house. I won't use it often but it makes me think of my mom and now I have one to use whenever I need it. It is very durable and shipping was very fast. What's not to love!

I'm sure there are people who bought this to clean their french press. Unfortunately it didn't filter out the bases I used. I won't lower the rating because if it was. This is a well made filter that should last a while. The price was very good. Generally good. But it didn't serve the purpose I originally bought it for. Which is a little disappointing.

Build quality seems fine but I am giving 2 stars due to misleading advertising. This is NOT an 8" filter and shouldn't be in the name! You'll need to read the fine print. It's only 7.75" on the outside. The basket is much smaller. This is unlike the old 8" mesh baskets that are actually 8 inches tall Ever expanding methods to make cheaper products and lure people into buying things they don't really need.

Just a poorly made and designed strainer. The strainer is fine, but it's all fragile and you have to be careful not to let anything hot fall off the sliding wooden handle (see photo). I was in the process of straining freshly cooked pasta and as I shook off the excess water, the handle slipped a bit, throwing the pasta down the drain. Great for rinsing a cup or two of rice, don't worry there are many better quality filters out there.

This is a good size colander to place strained pasta, veg etc on the rim of the pot after draining in the sink to continue dripping/draining until I'm ready to use the drained Add ingredients to what I'm cooking. /Production. Having this on hand eliminates the need for a colander taking up sink space. It won't fit in a 2 liter pot FULL of pasta/vegetables, but it will certainly fit Mac&Cheese Box cooked pasta and then some. The mesh is strong and durable making it easy to wash, clean and store.
