Bigger cables are important.

Most solar panel wires are only 10 or 12 gauge. As you run, the extra voltage drop becomes important on longer runs. The size of the manometer in this case is important not for amperes, but for the voltage drop. This is one of the few 8 gauge wires instead of 10 or 12. So I was able to get 3 volts more just by changing the gauge of the wire. This is very important when it's a cloudy day and your 100 watt panel is only putting out 18 watts. Every volt counts.

It is the best in parts and accessories for solar and wind power

Doesn't have a gradation that fits AWG8 cable, other than unsuitable front fairing for AWG10 gauge.

1 out of 4 pins is actually stuck

On first inspection 3 pins fell off after unscrewing. One stayed but the crimping is extremely poor and the pin is dangling from the cable cores. I've ordered a replacement and will see how it works, but everyone should 100% test their crimps. The replacement came relatively quickly and on the second try 2/4 of the pins were left on the cables and the other 2 were quite loose. I assume this is an improvement? I have to store, crimp and solder these cables myself, I don't have the time to…

Not recommended for portable solar panels

I have a Renogy 100w solar enclosure with a controller mounted to the back of the panel and wanted to replace the very short (8ft) cable that came with the panels that I can extend beyond the front of the trailer to expose the panels to the sun during the day. That the cable is 8 AWG and 30 feet long seemed like a great idea. When I received the cables I quickly realized that the cables were too rigid to be used for portable solar panels. While you can straighten the cables with a bit of…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • No automatic controller

First check the connections!

I bought the 10ft and 20ft sets. I noticed that all the nuts tightening around the cable on the connectors need to be tightened a bit. I pinned them without thinking twice until I used the 10ft cords. You had no output voltage at the inverter. I did some troubleshooting and found that the piece of metal inserted into the plastic connectors was not fully seated and not making contact. I removed the nut and found that the weathersleeve was misaligned and the piece of metal was not fully seated. I

Terrible quality control! Red cable with two plugs TWICE!

Unfortunately I have to give one star because of my (or lack of) experience with this product! I ordered an 80ft 8AWG extension cable (meaning it will be used to extend the connection from the panels to the charge controller) but upon installation I noticed that the red cable had two MC4 connectors (like seen in the pictures) which rendered it unusable because I couldn't connect it to the connector coming from the panel. The black was fine as expected and matched the images on the product page…

Great long solar cables

I had to walk about 150 feet from the solar panels to the charge controller. I've been looking for a long time how to dry. Then I looked for a do-it-yourself cable and the price was ridiculous. Then I found her at Revain and was so happy. I have previously purchased two 30ft kits from WindyNation but I never thought they would have cables that long. So now for the rating. I routed the cables and plugged them in for an instant connection. The cables are weather resistant and I'm not afraid of…

Nice performance boost

I used a standard sensor to connect my two 100 watt panels to a WindyNation P30L charge controller. I saw just 4.x amps from one panel down to a surprisingly low 5.3 amps when I reconnected the second panel. I figured anything that might help would be fine. While I thought I would see some improvement with the 8 gauge, the next equally sunny day I was pleasantly surprised (actually shocked) when the charge controller input read 8.4 amps. be happier. Although they come with MC4 connectors on…
