Very soft and warm, but the first hat had to be sent in for a replacement due to a hole in it. Got a replacement and there is a hole in it too.

They are definitely not suitable for a 14 year old child. They fit my almost 5 year old well but my 8 year old was very tight. If you have younger kids and you are looking for a knit hat, they are very cute.

I ordered a pack of regular size Santa hats for our 6 and 7 year olds and it was absolutely impossible for them to cover their ears and they looked ridiculous. I would say they would fit 2-3 year olds.
