Wiss 20N Heavy Industrial Shears Review

These scissors are a steal. They are well done. I am very satisfied with their quality and efficiency. Maybe someday my relatives will fight over them because they look like they're made well enough to outlive me!

I was a little skeptical when I read a previous review that these Wiss 20N shears have changed. Fortunately, I found that my fears were unfounded. Compared to my 30+ pair, the blade edge is identical in length (4 3/4 inches) - the pivot point is 5 9/16 inches from the tip of the blade (vs 5 7/16 inches on the old scissors) . . - The overall length of the scissors is 11 1/16 inches (vs. 10 1/2 inches for the older pair). These scissors live up to their name. These are sharp and very well made heavy duty scissors. In the store, I reach for it every day to open heavy plastic wrap, cut thick rolls of brown carpentry paper, cardboard, and countless other items.

I bought titanium coated scissors for cutting 40-80 mil thick rubber membrane. At first it cut well, but soon it flexed and began catching on the membrane between the blades instead of cutting. I realized I needed a tough job, KNOW. After shopping this is the best price I can find. Some other sites charge almost double that. The scissors arrived within a week and lives up to expectations. When delivered, the paint on the handle has peeled off in places, but this is normal.

I use scissors professionally. I was pretty loyal to Gingher and wanted to try something new.
