The extension cord was purchased to provide multiple outlets for the generator. It works well but the original was given to my son, a general contractor, because he liked the rubber tips on the extension for field use. The second extension was bought for me but I've noticed the other son eyeing him, I hope there's no need to buy a third. This would make buying the original extension very expensive.

The cord from this unit is 14/3 AWG. What a pity! And this detail is not in the product description. You can use a 12/3 or larger cable for construction purposes for a small additional charge. The back also says "For Indoor Use Only". Most of my construction work takes place outdoors. "Heavy Duty Design" in the description is a stretch. At the moment I only use this for charging tool batteries and low powered power tools. I was hoping for better quality.

High quality, heavy duty power strip with excellent surge protection, as demonstrated by a brief lightning strike during a recent thunderstorm. Many of our electrical devices have experienced major surges and the only devices truly protected against failure have been connected to these splitters.
