Does not flow and tends to become crystal like as it cools

This product was used in electronics construction. While it did finally work, the heat to get it to flow properly was excessive with damage to the soldered parts at times. It would also always cool dull gray and crystal like in appearance. One of the worst solders I have ever used and I have done electronics design and construction all my life. As a side note, the soldering was done with a temperature controlled iron so that it did not overheat.

Pros
  • I made my soldering look nice and clean with this solder!
Cons
  • The 1.8% flux content may be too high or too low for some applications, leading to poor-quality soldering or excessive residue

Super easy to work with!

Needed this stuff for soldering small electronics. Originally went to a local hardware store and that stuff just wouldn't stay hot. Had a few friends recommend getting this and couldn't have been happier!

Pros
  • works well
Cons
  • The product may be difficult to find or purchase online or in brick-and-mortar stores

Perfect for small electronic jobs

Bought this to use on electric guitar parts, and cable repairs. Works as it should. Heats fast, and bonds great. Overall, great price for performance.

Pros
  • Great product!
Cons
  • The wire may require extra cleaning or preparation before use, adding to the time and effort required for soldering

Don't waste your money on this solder

I have had this solder for over a year in my tool box. Needed it yesterday for a small soldering job. This stuff would not flow on to the wires and what was being used for flux did not smell like any flux I have ever smelled in the past 60 years. The stuff left a gray dull look to the soldered wires like a cold solder joint. No amount of heat would correct the problem. This stuff was a waste of money. It went in the trash can. Luckily I still had a little piece of some American manufactured…

Pros
  • Fast ship hey it's solder but it works
Cons
  • The product may not be suitable for high-temperature applications or situations where heat resistance is required

Great stuff. Very thin and easy to use

Great stuff. Very thin and easy to use. Because it's thin it melts very easily, making the entire job easier. That's my review.

Pros
  • Used on pc boards. Works very well on all applications; including old board repair.Bill
Cons
  • The soldering wire may not be compatible with certain types of metal alloys, causing ineffective or poor-quality solder joints
