can what he says he can.

Approximately 8W with no load. I had no trouble starting my air conditioner. It's been running at around 900 watts for an hour and isn't even warm yet. So far I'm impressed.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Some issues

Not cheap Chinese junk. Simply cheap and good.

I want to say "cheap chinese junk" but I think after 6 months it still works fine. The price is right. I didn't really put the full rated load on it so who knows, but I do know I've had about 1kW and no issues so far. If you have a 48V DC battery and need AC power, you can do worse than this unit, yes. I would buy a bigger one except my bank is only 10.56kWh and I must be some kind of watt miser as it is also my boat's propulsion unit.

Extremely efficient

The sine wave is as clean as an outlet as everything I've plugged in to keep the motors running as quietly as a standard outlet. It ran an 8000 BTU air conditioner at high speed with no issues with the fan, and the compressor worked well, was cooling, and was as quiet as an outlet. Worked short but worked 8 hours. My pellet stove is now battery only and the battery voltage has only dropped to 49.2 volts on a high 55 volt 48 volt system. I connected a 1500w heater and it worked great but the two

It makes sine waves!

I replaced the 2.5kW MSW inverter with this one (2kW). So far this is working very well. I don't miss the buzz of old solid scraps from my freezer or even my floor fan. This device was a replacement device. My wife liked the remote switch. No more going into the basement with a flashlight. I like tension gauges. The old MSW inverter only had a single "ON" LED. I keep it as a backup just in case. I ran some tests with a desktop power supply and found that the maximum and minimum cutoff voltages…

Many devices damaged

This inverter said it had many safety features like overload protection but somehow it failed and there was a power surge or something and the device stopped working. It no longer showed the output voltage, but still put out 80 volts. Not sure if it was a power surge or low voltage that caused the damage, but my unused microwave fired sparks, the fridge buzzed and popped and died, and my water pump burned out. I've also found that a few transformers no longer work with low voltage devices like…

Very nice, but with serious problems.

This is a well built and very efficient inverter. It only draws about 5 watts when on with no load. But it does have a couple of big issues: there's only a single jack on the output, and that's a fancy 7-in-1 universal jack that doesn't make as good a connection as a typical 15 amp jack. (Even though this unit claims to have an output of 6000 watts, which is 50 amps!) Also, the output voltage will fluctuate everywhere when trying to run a simple load like a microwave oven. It is possible for…

Excellent Inverter: Power Inverter

Purchased 2000/4000W 48VDC -> 120VAC Inverter. I connected this inverter to a 48V 100Ah AGM battery. I checked it with an oscilloscope with and without load and showed a very good sine wave. Not graded like cheap inverters. The device stays very cold and the fans only turn on when the load reaches 1000W. Even with the fans running, it's pretty quiet. I tested the 1800w heater and it ran between load and no load at a constant 122VAC. Previous comments have raised concerns about grounding. I…

Three inverters are considered. Figured out which ones would run on AC

Summary: All three inverters were able to power my Black & Decker portable air conditioner. This is a 120VAC unit rated 9 AMPS (equivalent to 1080W). However, there were some very noticeable differences between the inverters, so let's dive deeper. But first, how do you choose an inverter that works with your air conditioner? When powering devices such as an air conditioner, refrigerator, motor, or an "inductive" load, you should be aware that the inrush current drawn by these devices will be…
