Major Design Flaw: Diving and Snorkeling

How do you think I fit the loop through the knife holster when you sew the loop where it should be a loop? Also, there are so many uncomfortable velcro straps that I would rather use the rubber straps that came with my knife. Well I tried.

Great design, poor workmanship

Most of the stitching started to unravel after a few dives. Repaired by myself, only for that 2 stars. Great product, poor workmanship. Velcro straps are easy to adjust and very comfortable. Stop clinging to the hair on the legs and cause discomfort!

  • Weight
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

3 years, dozens of dives later

The shell is in excellent condition. I got it and used it on my 4.75" SOG Seal Strike and the combo was perfect. I've dived with it in salt water, fresh water, wetsuit, nothing. For a person with log calves, every other strap or case will cut in and leave behind a mark at the end of the dive. Not so with the XS sheath.Word of mouth spread about this product and I convinced other members of my dive community to buy it.Will definitely buy again if needed.

I haven't been in the water with it yet. But I can say it's a lot more convenient than my old dive/spearfishing knife with just rubber bands. It's also easy to set up, which is a bonus. Updated rating. I've had it since March. It's been 4 months and the stitching connecting the knife holder to the neoprene has come undone on all sides. I am very disappointed in this. This is a great knife holder but Scuba needs to contact the manufacturer and resolve this issue.

Beautiful, but the straps are uncomfortably long.

This knife holder is very comfortable to wear and held my knife securely when I took it to the wreck last weekend. I'm only taking off a star because the straps aren't long enough. I'm a small woman but I have fairly muscular legs and the bottom strap was too big for my calf but also too small to really fit my thigh. I had it work on my calf by tucking the ends under the straps and wrapping it back up and it stayed secure there. I didn't even feel it when it was on. Note: XS is a brand, not a…

Holds the knife in place better than rubber bands.

I find the knife to be more secure in this knife holder than just in the included rubber straps. It does require some adjustment but once set up properly it fits both my 6ft 220lb husband and me 5ft 2in 135lbs. I feel more confident removing and reinserting a knife from its holder. I have a feeling it will hold up well. We are considering adding a piece of velcro in the pocket of the knife holder and on the back of the holster to prevent it from moving. It has a strap that goes through the back

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Expensive

Does not fit my sheath (length 20 cm). When pulling the knife, it flies out of the lower pocket of the stabilizer. IMPORTANT: Only suitable for sheaths with side slots. Sheath with belt clip does not fit. This is because the top strap that holds the sheath has a stabilizing loop that minimizes up and down movement. With clip-on devices, you must remove the strap from this stabilizer loop, resulting in more vertical movement. You can minimize this by tightening the top straps, but it won't be…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Not suitable for non-XS dive knives.

Mixed opinion. It's definitely comfortable. Wears well and stays in the water. The problem is how he holds the sheath. The bottom mount is just a pocket that you inserted the top of the case into. When you pull the blade handle, it extends. The only thing held up is a single nylon strap, giving the sheath plenty of freedom of movement no matter how tight it is. Now I have not used the XS dive knife. Their scabbard may have a clip for the bottom end and a slot for the top strap to accommodate…

Safe, optimized and versatile.

I liked this product so much that I bought two. The straps are strong and the knife feels very secure without moving. I have a different manufacturer's knife and it still works. I find that this product can be used with any knife and sheath of this size as long as the sheath has an attachment point at the top for the small rubber bands that usually come with it. The back of the product has a rubber pad to keep it from moving on wet skin or a wetsuit. The knife holder holds your knife where you…
