I have thick curly hair. This product was very controversial. I usually straighten my hair and then use a flat iron to create soft curls. Some parts of my hair frizz and others don't; Some spots in my hair didn't even straighten. I had a very high temperature and it still didn't improve efficiency. All this article did was toast my hair even more. I'm sending this rectifier back.

I found this straightener through several blogs and reviews - all describing it as perfect for naturally thick hair. Sounds too good to be true in this price range. I was looking for a 1 inch iron but after reading many reviews I decided to try the Xtava 2 inch infrared iron instead. I continue to use the same hair products and Xtava straightens my hair in the same or slightly less time than my current straightener. I like that it doesn't smell like fried hair! I'm in love with this iron. I used it last night before going out and even though it was very cold outside with little humidity it tamed my frizzy static hair. It held up so well my hair still looks great the next day after I sleep. (See photos.) The packaging of this device is great. The product came with a broken infrared panel. which confuses me because it was better packaged than any other package I have received. Everything else about the straightener is great and it would be a fantastic straightener if only the cracked plate didn't get caught and pull out strands of my hair every time I use it.

I have used this product once since I bought it. I read some really good reviews about it and since I already have an xtava hair dryer that I LOVE I decided to give it a try. That's great. It heats up very quickly and is great for thick natural hair like mine. First I washed my hair and dried it with a xtava hair dryer with comb attachment and then I used a flat iron.
