What's the point of a scan function that only shows frequencies and can't also show related tags that we typed in, like "ATL TOWER" when it stops on an active frequency? Instead, with that big beautiful display, it just shows the frequency and the SCAN underneath even stops at the active frequency. You can scroll down the frequencies without being in scan mode with their text tags and manually monitor individual stations that way, but I can't find what is scanning and showing the text tag…

I didn't notice anything with the first one. I realized that I have a bad block. So I returned the device and bought a second device. Couldn't find anything either. Then I noticed that about 5% of the reviews complained about the same thing. I don't know why everyone didn't complain. Maybe others have never tried it. I hope they lose a lot of money because that's rubbish. Oh, I live within walking distance from my airport.

Disappointed with the GPS function. I was hoping that I could enter the airport code and set it as the destination for the GPS, but it doesn't.

Very good unit. Bought mainly for backup VOR to GPS; Reception range of more than 20 miles in the air with a clear line of sight. The range is much less if the unit is lowered into the cabin, so I bought a 50 ohm coaxial extension cable to place the antenna remotely. Haven't tried comm xmt but reception is very good even beyond 20 miles with good antenna placement.

I carry it in my flight bag for security and to get ATIS before I start the engine. The reception inside the C172 is also pretty good. I really like the rechargeable battery system and the alkaline battery backup compartment. I get comfort and reliability.
