Read Before Buying

Received this set today, some things to consider before buying; They're about as well made as one would expect for the price, maybe even better. The carbide cutter is well ground and brazed onto a (tool?) steel shank. Better than I actually expected. If you intend to use them in a hand drill or similar, they will work just fine. However, if you plan to use them in a straight grinder, you may want to consider purchasing a different product. The shank is supposed to be 1/4 but is actually .235โ€ฆ

Pros
  • Dual Cutting Head. Suitable for deburring and polishing cast iron, cast steel, carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel and other materials.
Cons
  • Without machine gun

Not for porting cylinder heads

Not for porting cast heads! The description says they are suitable for cast iron (among other things) with a speed range of 6000-50000 rpm. When used with a 25,000rpm electric straight grinder, which is vastly superior to an air grinder, these long end mills were very prone to shaft deflection. Only slightly different from the truth, the high speed of the grinder severely deformed the shaft in seconds and they were unusable. Cast iron teeth are removed quickly and cleanly. Probably tooโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Excellent for fine detailing, cutting, engraving, carving, mending and finishing.
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Pretty decent: Trim

The carbide is quite good and cuts cast iron with relative ease. I lost a few teeth on one of the burrs but I think it was more me than the burr. As others have said the ripples are soft to the touch since I had noticeable vibration and visible wobble on 3 out of 4. As others have said the shanks are NOT 1/4 inch, they are smaller, probably 6mm. If you try to use it in a 1/4 inch straight grinder it will jam but the bit will flip causing unsafe concentricity. I intend to find a 6mm collet toโ€ฆ

Pros
  • processing all kinds of metals (including all kinds of hardened steel) and non-metals (such as marble, jade, bone), and the processing hardness can reach 70 HRC.
Cons
  • Expensive
