Not 1/4 " shank for straight, spiral and trimming router bits

I bought these to work on the guitar. My first project was to mill the cavity of a solid body electric guitar, but I couldn't do it because of too much chatter and the beat kept slipping out. I thought there was something wrong with the collet on my new Dewalt router. I replaced another bit and it worked fine. It turned out to be a slightly under 1/4" shank (I'm assuming they're metric) that was small enough not to have a secure fit when the collet was fully tightened . Generally if you have…

Suitable for softwoods

I bought these to make the bass body neck and pickup pockets. They worked great on the poplar body I was training on, but when I started working with the harder ash wood they barely held up. Eventually he dug into a tree and the router jumped. He removed part of my template and left a decent hole in the tree. You can buy a whiteside cutter for almost the same price. I had to cut a very strong 1/8" Lexan using a metal template. Well I succeeded, but the first cutter I used tore about 1/3 of the way around a roughly 28" oblong circle. I knew something was wrong because the bearing started sparking off the metal template and the plastic weirdly melted. Then the bearing must have knocked out its innards because then the whole nozzle started vibrating madly.
