Practical for preparing 2 coffees. It's on the high side so there's plenty of room for tall mugs. It also means that shorter cups require some dexterity to place and splatter can (and will) occur. Have a rag ready.

Does not fit most mugs/cups as they are too short. Very few use coasters without weights under the cups. It's just too short and you need to balance it over something else to fit most standard cup sizes.

For the (cheap!) price I was expecting something flimsy and wobbly, but it's not flimsy at all! Metal Legs - Nice thick steel with a durable powder coat finish. The wood is smooth and doesn't twist or slide from side to side (I believe it's glued to the rail). It opens and closes smoothly, and the joints aren't loose or too tight. It's just really well done. Glad I got this instead of one of the larger, less storage friendly and more expensive drip trays.

I recently searched online for these Hario coasters and found that most reviewers have no idea what the true utility is. Most of them are oddly shaped and have a small base that doesn't fit most scales. When people ask about adjusting their scale, others simply say you can put the base on the scale. This totally defeats the purpose! When measuring the amount of coffee you extract, all you see on the scale is the cup that collects the coffee, nothing else. Otherwise, you'll never be accurate…
