Worked well on my pistons and rings

Grease, grease, grease. The ring compressor worked fine, but I lubricated the metal spool and piston like hell. The rings are easy to compress and the piston goes straight into the cylinder. Before you start, make sure the rolled metal is perpendicular to the top of the block and keep pushing it down while pushing the plunger. Ring expanding pliers worked well too. Easy to use.

Pros
  • Material: Carbon Steel (Pliers) / Strong Spring Steel (Compressor)
Cons
  • Empty

Not all are there. in engine parts

It took more than a week to get here while other items ordered at the same time arrived mid last week, Amazon delivery system. Item is as advertised however no piston ring pliers were supplied as stated in the item description, really don't worry it is not a required tool for the job. If being of Eastern European descent seems important to someone, the quality seems to be pretty good.

Pros
  • piston ring disassembly process, piston ring expansion, easy to use, safe and reliable.
Cons
  • Discontinued

Know how to use it.

If you've ever assembled an engine, you should know how to use this type of tool to install a piston. Make sure your rings are lubricated and properly seated on the piston, lubricate the cylinder walls, then make sure the tool is centered. I cannot stress enough that if it is not centered you will have problems. Finally, don't try the one hit method, if she slips, you damage your top ring, basically use your common sense and you'll be fine. I used the tool on a 2000 Ford 5.4L 2V

Pros
  • Professional Installation Recommended
Cons
  • Damaged

Works for this task but definitely more for the hobbyist

I used this to convert a small Ford block. The compressor is easy to use and the spring action keeps it taut well. When tightening, the spring will begin to move, which can cause problems installing the piston if left unnoticed. I had to constantly adjust the compression spring while tightening to get it to properly line up with itself. It works, but as with anything, rebuilding an engine takes time, maybe a little more time with this tool. The ring tool isn't great, but then again, it will get

Pros
  • Fits from 2-1/8" to 7" (53mm - 175mm)
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
