An excellent vise for your money.

vice with an excellent price-performance ratio. Worked for everything I wanted. It's a vice for a man who makes things with his hands to keep projects to himself, and he works great for that. I read a review where the owner tried to hold the handle of an ax or hammer by driving a wedge in and breaking the vise. A $35 vise will not work for this. He needs a vise for $150. Everyone else will benefit greatly from this vice.

Pros
  • Yost – quality vice since 1908
Cons
  • More

Excellent vise for the home.

This is a traditional rotary vise. It's not new, it's not exciting, but it was good value for money. Unheated but fairly well sealed (gasket, good windows etc) it shows no signs of corrosion. It is non-slip, holds objects and rotates. It's small, by no means a professional metalworking vise, but for holding a small angle when cutting or sanding it works great.

Pros
  • Cast iron construction (30,000 psi tensile strength) with interchangeable micro-serrated steel jaws grips parts without slippage,
Cons
  • High Price

Try to be realistic

This is actually my second purchase of this vise. I have one in my basement workshop and now this is for a bench in my shed. Look, that's a $25 vise, unfortunately made in Commieland. I hate it but I have to be realistic. I just can't justify spending $300 on something I rarely use. That's enough for my rare use. He's holding the mower blade to sharpen it. has a small project I'm working on. It serves as a third pair of hands when needed. It will fail if you try to abuse it. Just know this in…

Pros
  • Jaw width: 4 in. (10.16 cm); jaw opening: 3 inches (7.6 cm); Neck depth: 2.1 in.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
