Description of πŸ”§ EZ-Hex - EZ-901420-13 Installation Kit for Soft Wood with Threaded Insert - Flanged - 1/4-20 x 13mm

Easy to use solution for adding strong threads to soft woods. Simply drill a hole and thread into place with the included drive tool. Flanged design insures surface-level installation.

Bad drill in nuts

The drill is wrong. He shakes the workpiece. When I created a guide to drill multiple holes with spacing, it didn't work properly and caused the guide to wobble once drilling started. It's also bad to use from a drill press.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Safety

Works perfectly! best in Nuts

Works great in most situations. I use a smaller drill and impact tool to install inserts when I need more power. I've used tools and bits there on a variety of woods, from pine and cedar to MDF, OSB, plywood, and hardwoods like maple, ash, and oak.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Speed

Great idea, didn't work for me.

I am building a desk with panels and have used this product to install a C channel on the underside of the 2 panels that make up the top. I use relatively soft wood. The product comes with a 23/64 inch nozzle. After some testing on similar woods I found that the diameter was too big and only the top teeth really caught. with inserts 1/4-20. A drill was a great idea but not very suitable for softer woods. Too much torque is available at speed. I have found that using a hex wrench is much more…
