Soft, quiet and powerful.

quiet operation. Moves a lot of air. The flap inside failed because it was installed upside down to direct the duct down. Although it's been working fine so far.

Pros
 •
Lead-acid batteries release hydrogen when charging. However, if the battery compartment is left open in a cold climate to release gas, the batteries will become too cold and their capacity will be greatly reduced. A hood that solves this problem is especially important when placing battery boxes in basements, garages and sheds. As heat rises in the structure, a negative pressure area forms around the box, cold air enters the box, and gases escape into the structure. The Power Vent controls battery compartment ventilation, removing hazardous hydrogen gas and reducing cold air intrusion into the compartment. The Power Vent contains a gravity operated flap that normally stays closed. When connected to a voltage controlled relay, the fan runs only when the batteries are charging, blowing out gas fumes. Rated for batteries up to 2200Ah and charging current up to 125A. The fan can be controlled by the Xantrex XW inverter auxiliary relay or by the OutBack FX inverter auxiliary relay (use a 12V fan for all OutBack inverter voltages ). , or with a voltage controlled switch. The 12/24V unit draws 3W and blows air at 6cfm with a maximum directional change of 360°. Dimensions: 4" diameter x 7.25" with 2" PVC inlet and outlet. The 48 volt unit draws 6 watts and pushes 8 cfm with a maximum reversal of 360°. Dimensions: 4" x 10" diameter. long, with 3" PVC inlet and outlet.
