Glass Tea Kettle & Hot Water Boiler - Zeppoli Electric Kettle with Auto Shutoff, Boil-Dry Protection, LED Indicator - 1.7L Cordless Option Review

Had to return after a few days - the water smelled so bad of plastic or chemicals or something. That ruined the tea. I couldn't get rid of the smell, I've boiled it so many times, drained the water and hoped it would go away.

Looks like a great pot, cooks quickly, glows well when working. I boiled water to make tea, it had a strange smell, I couldn't drink it and tried again, but the water had the same smell. I tried several times, it was the same every time, so I sent it back.

The design of the spout that water comes out of is terrible. Its way too small. You have to pour the water really, really slowly so the water doesn't spill out from under the lid. I don't have time for that in the morning. Also, I took a picture of the size compared to a nickel (0.5c) - now imagine. The filter in it is also very limited, so removing it doesn't help either.

I've been using this kettle for over a week now and I'm completely satisfied with it. It has a large capacity (1.7L) and heats up quickly. Unlike the other reviewers, I have no problem with the way the water pours out of the spout. Mine doesn't drip or drip at all, just a gentle stream into my teacup. As a crazy American, I heated water in the microwave. Never again! That makes the tea so much better! And the beautiful LED backlight that lets you know it's on is an added aesthetic bonus.

Good quality. Heats up quickly. The automatic shutdown works reliably. Looks better than others I've had. Received a few months ago. My son and I use it several times a day. I will update when I have more. I don't know why but the metal base doesn't pick up mineral deposits like the last brand I had so that's a plus! I had hoped that the lid could be opened further. Bought one of these a while ago so I wouldn't forget the kettle on the stove (used to be a terrible habit - erm). Does its job fully. Fast hot water, turns itself off, no more burned kettles! I chose this device because it CANNOT be set below the boiling point. The tea water MUST be hot, so don't try to sell me that 400-degree crap just because the machine doesn't work. Zeppoli comes straight out of the box, plug in, fill with room temperature filtered water and BAM! Three and a half minutes later I'm cooking.
