It works as expected, although the bottom is a bit too slippery

This case will hold a 2.5" PATA laptop hard drive and can store files of around 20MB/via USB 2.0 or 3.0 transfer. My only real complaint about it is that it had to be made with rubber grips on the bottom. I had to order some and attach them myself to keep it in place. He has to do a job Verdict: buy

A very good case. on Hard Drive Enclosure

Stylish well fitting 2.5 IDE Pata drive enclosure. And that's not a complaint, drives are slow, so yes, they're used slowly, but they come in very handy for that extra little storage space you need for file transfers or whatever. I had 2 IDE drives from old laptops and they were in old IDE cases with dual USB Y adapter cables to run from one and read from the other. They're not fast, but they serve a purpose. With the USB Y adapter setup I can finally get rid of these stupid cases.

Easily adaptable for computers and accessories

I found the hard drive easy to install and convenient to use. He has a mistake. I've used it on both the Surface Book 2 and the Dell XPS, both fully loaded and there was a tendency to back up files that didn't work or couldn't keep up. The laptops worked fine, but the transfers didn't keep up. I used another brand with the exact same hard drive and had no problems. Since then I've put the IDE case aside to use it more for protection than utility. For use with multiple files, this works fine.

Beware of partition table corruption

After several uses, Windows 10 refused to read my 320GB WD drive in this enclosure. Apparently the partition table has been corrupted. I checked the drive using WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for Windows and found no problems with the drive. So I can only conclude that the problem was with this Zheino IDE hard drive enclosure, but I don't have any clear evidence for that. I was able to recover most of my files using Piriform's Recuva. I recommend the Pro version of the utility. I also used the…

DO NOT BUY IF YOU WANT TO LOSE YOUR DATA

It seemed very cheap when I got it but for $8 I wasn't expecting much and just wanted to transfer some data, mainly photos, from an old hard drive, so I didn't even have to leave it running very long. The first time I used it, the USB cable fell out of my laptop. Cheap, but whatever. THEN I find my computer refusing to read my hard drive (and I've been trying intermittently for well over a week just in case it was a "you need to reboot" thing) and I panic. Now I just sit here and HOPE. that I…

It works fine for me. Never had a problem since September 2019.

I thought I would write this because I saw a lot of negative reviews and comments and decided to add my two cents. Most of my drives are SATA, but I have a few old IDE drives. I originally bought it to transfer files from those old drives, which it did well, and then decided to remap the largest of my old drives to make a small torrent box in combination with a Raspberry Pi. I say all this to emphasize that this case and my old hard drive have been used regularly on a daily basis and I have not

Normal case, tight fitting, no double-headed USB cable

This is a basic IDE case. I had an IDE drive that I salvaged from my old (really old) laptop that ended up dying. I figured I might as well get data from it and use it as a simple hard drive. Also, my hard drive is an IDE SSD, so I figured it might as well be. What caught my eye was the USB cable that came with it. The USB cable was about average length but didn't have an additional USB connector coming out the other end for extra power. Most of these cases usually come with this secondary…
