We have a couple of little lizards who LOVE this thing since they opened it. I think it draws 5 watts, which is significantly less than an incandescent bulb.

Reading previous reviews I was aware of some quality control issues reported by some decided to give it a try anyway, checked the article for consistency i.e. no hotspots anywhere and afterwards my little girl (a red slider turtle) loves it and spends hours curled up on it - YES!

I was nervous about the purchase because I read that your ball python will be burned. It won't get too hot. Use it for its intended purpose. Do not light them with heat lamps, do not cover them with a flower soil, do not wrap them in a towel, work according to the instructions and everything will turn out perfectly. Like my purchase. This was one of the best purchases I have ever made for my box turtle! Terrence loves it so much and uses it every day! It is very warm and not too hot for her to lie in it for several hours. It's also a very good size, not too terribly thick but thick enough not to be pushed around! I definitely recommend this product! Excellent value for money I spent! I've had it for over a year now and it still works great!
