Works great best in switches

I liked the fact that it was clear where to connect the power from this device. The last one I had was a bit smaller and stumbled all the time. Not sure if I had too much voltage or if it was plugged in the wrong way and that's why the mug shut off. The old one had no markings on how to connect it.

driving under load. Best in circuit breaker

Purchased to protect the 2000w inverter installed in my wheeled solar system. Works with a load from a microwave oven with a power of 900 watts. It should be able to withstand the strain, but it can't. Must be replaced with an emergency fuse for protection. Too bad because it looks good and is easy to install. Unfortunately, it just doesn't work in this situation.

Does not withstand the rated current.

I originally bought a 100Amp breaker to install between the RV batteries and the inverter. Even at 50 amps (per inverter) it crackled. Then they replaced it with a 300A switch. Again the inverter went up to 120 amps and the switch broke. I've bypassed this now to survive the weekend (camping) but I need to find a circuit breaker that can handle its amperage. To do this, you must provide precise information.

Don't waste your money.

Within a year of use my trolling motor started to experience large voltage drops so I bought two new batteries and after lots of testing rewired my boat (no small feat). Problems I ended up isolating it from that fuse, it didn't blow but caused a huge voltage drop when heated (not even 10 amps and I bought a 50 amp switch).

300A unit failed at 24V 68A load

I thought this would be a great switch for my 24V solar system. I wanted to use it as a battery shutdown/overload protection. First, the device has 1/4" posts that are too small for a 2/0 tip (3/8" posts should be used). They are too small to handle the current which would explain why it got hot and blew the switch which drew 68 amps at 24 volts. It was fried in less than an hour, stuck open and stopped working. Back to the old-fashioned switch and built-in fuse.

Decent for the price

Used between the battery pack and solar charge controllers in RV solar systems. Installation in the basement of a mobile home, so weather resistance is not taken into account. Seems to be of decent quality and still works as advertised. The only issue is that I wish the lugs were bigger and further away from the main body of the switch. If you are using large cables with large end caps this can be a problem. The tabs are labeled "bat" and "aux" (load), so installation isn't a guessing game.

Will definitely handle high currents, but the terminals are too short and too close to the body to attach a quality eyelet directly. I bought good copper spade lugs for attachment to 2/0 AWG wire and had to use a copper plate bar and another spacer to get them attached snugly. The reset is also a little oversensitive. Even a light press of the reset button will trip the circuit breaker. (So make sure you don't have anything that can fall or lie on the button or you'll keep pressing it shut.)…
