What a huge improvement! I've been riding a 2013 Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc 29' hardtail for a few years and my only issue has been lower back pain when riding over rough terrain or on long descents. This seatpost solved those problems immediately. You won't even notice it until you need it, then it just hovers over you. It's not soft at all under normal driving conditions. I recommend it to absolutely everyone!

Installs in under 5 minutes. And a few more minutes to figure out the adjustments. There is a noticeable difference in comfort. It is great. The first clothes rail I bought had a few warnings but no instructions. I sent it back because I was afraid to use it. This post provides clear instructions. Both for adjusting the stiffness and for adjusting the seating position.

I bought an e bike, started riding in brooklyn (3rd world street) at 20+ mph, 200 lbs + 50 lbs in a paneer bag, super bumpy ride, 50% of the time. After installing this seatpost, I almost forgot I was standing in front of the bulletin board or a regular pothole. Not a magical fix like real suspension, but for what it's worth my ride will be comfortable enough. Considering the cost, I'd say everyone should get this.

My seat tube is 30.9 and the other 30.9 fits fine. However, this should be 31 mm. I wiped the paint off the first inch of the pipe trying to attach it, but couldn't install it. I also tried opening the top of the seat tube but that didn't help. I messed up the frame so I can't return it, but it needs sanding or sanding to make it fit. I would recommend that you look elsewhere if you don't know your pipe is 31mm full diameter. or more.

The easy preload plug on the bottom of the seatpost is easily adjusted for different rider weights and can be adjusted to give lighter riders a forgiving ride. At 200 pounds, this seatpost made some of the potholes and cracks on my trail more bearable. This helps a lot with unexpected hits that usually tend to push the saddle against the back end. This seatpost can throw you out of your seat if the dent is big enough and if you ride fast enough. However, this problem doesn't arise when you hit a pothole, as you simply fall into the pothole and the suspension compresses. I'm 160 pounds and have no preload but still feel the compression is a bit stiff. Maybe it would be better if I put in a spring with a lower constant k (lb/in or N/m). Got this for my 2013 2013 Giant Reval 1 29" hardtail which only has an air-sprung front fork. Definitely reduces the impact of impact but does not dampen and therefore can cause kickback but only at high speed on big bumps - which you can see on pedestrian overpasses. This works on most bumps and improves comfort (see attached video). It doesn't feel like flying over bumps, but it's definitely a noticeable difference. Even if you don't see the real hit, it will work. I kept my fingers on the hinge where the top was moving back and forth and I felt some sort of "movement" the whole time.
