This is a great little chuck for the DB 250, but it's a little tricky to change the direction of the jaws when you need to. Here are some tips on how to do it once I get used to it. . .1) After removing the chuck from the lathe, hold it face up and jaws out. 2) Push out one of the cams but leave the threaded adjustment rod inside. Be careful not to fall out. 3) After the cam is extended, turn it over and gently bring it to the outside wall of the chuck in line with the adjustment rod. 4) Now insert the hex wrench into the fitting and slowly begin to rotate while gently pushing inwards to engage the jaw with the rotating threads. Don't press on the sponge, let it start to rotate slightly. Do this for each of the 4 sponges. If you have to do this frequently, it makes sense to buy two of these sponges, one for each jaw direction.
