Maybe others were lucky and mine broke on the first hole. Did it through 1/4" steel at a relatively slow speed and once it broke through the bit tightened slightly and the bit sheared off halfway down the shank. I would write to the seller but the rush to return is one Spending $15 on this drill expect the same result so take it easy once the material is removed I never thought a 1/2" drill could shear off so easily with minimal torque can, but nowadays anything is possible.
