My old home build trailer had a very old very strange looking hitch. It had a weird cantilever arm that seemed sketchy to me. I've always hated it but just never had the time to change it. Also, it was welded to the tongue, so it wasn't easy to replace. In the end I decided to get this clutch and chop off the old cantilever. Cutting the old one off was a pain, but once it was off, installing this hitch was a breeze. To install it I used 4 grade 8 bolts, nuts and washers, 2 vertical and 2 horizontal, and finally I'll probably add some welds for extra security. The pair is a great quality piece, easy to install, easy to connect and has room to latch (unlike the old hitch). I'm so glad I finally put it on and took off that old box!
