Review on πŸ’ͺ Enhanced Performance Heavy-Duty Modified Sine Wave Inverter (3000-watts) by Michael Robinson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good reliable high power inverter but don't repeat my mistake.

I connected one of these to two 6v golf cart batteries in series. It starts power tools, charges tool batteries and works great. You can leave it on when idle and it consumes next to nothing. It works silently with small loads. When the load is high, the fan turns on. I love how this device allows me to hardwire it into my application instead of having to use built in sockets. The remote control works great for him. I've been using mine for about 6 months now with no problems. Update: I've tried starting some old power tools and they kept throwing the switch. After troubleshooting, I found that I had used the wrong wire gauge for my connections. I was misled by Revain's phrase "People who bought this product also bought". Revain recommends an inverter wiring kit using 4 gauge wire. This inverter requires a 4/0 wire and someone probably confused it with 4AWG and now we're all following like sheep thanks to the way Revain connects the two products together. A 4/0 wire is much larger than a 4. The wire sizes are in increasing order: 4, 3, 2, 1, 0, 00, 000 and 0000, the last of which is 4/0. After rewiring to 4/0 I can now operate air compressors and old saws. Lesson learned. The 4 gauge Cobra wire harness is too small for this inverter. Update: It's been two years and a month and now he's dead. Was working great until it died. Update: Unfortunately it wasn't the inverter that died. It turned out to be a defective switch. Note to self: Check the inverter's performance before taking it apart. (Luckily it was easy to put together). I firmly believe that 98% of problems with inverters, regardless of brand, are related to the cables and batteries that power them, not the inverter itself.
