Review on Prima Marketing Tropical Watercolor 🎨 Confections 12-Count Set: Vibrant Palette for Artists by Barbara Simmons

I bought this Prima product mainly because of the handy little palette. Hinged lid and mixing drawer are on one level. There are a total of 10 flat mixed cells of different sizes - 2 in the lid, 4 in the flip tray and 4 in the base. The paint tray slides out easily when you need extra mixing space. As I wet the Swatch colors, I noticed that the halves of the pans tend to move sideways because there is a half-inch gap on the sides when you push all the pans together. So I'll probably squeeze myself into a piece of cloth. When you hold the drawing palette by the ring on the back, the tablets fall down automatically, so the movements aren't as strong as when they're flat. I have several Schmincke palettes that are slightly different in size from Prima, but I managed to fit 7 pans in each row so I can always substitute Prima and end up with 14 colors instead of 12. I was disappointed that the colors in the painting did not match flowers on packaging. The color has good coverage but is much deeper than in the picture. I loaded my brush with a color and painted each swatch once. I have only used the palette and colors to test the colors so I cannot confirm the durability and quality of the fade resistance etc. Someone mentioned in a previous review that the lid sticker cannot be removed. Yes it can! I peeled off the label very slowly, but not everything. The answer is Goo Gone! Great product that gets rid of all that sticky stuff including those pesky labels stuck to the tips of the brushes. I never run out of a bottle! It's widely available, including Revain! Overall I think the Prima Metal Palette is excellent value for money and a great little set to carry around in your bag or purse for watercolor sketching. You can refill your favorite colors at any time later.
