Review on 🌟 High-performance Garmin 010-01772-00 Foretrex 601: A Trustworthy 2-Inch Companion by Ashwin Drollinger

This is the only dedicated GPS I own so I don't have a comparison but here's my experience: I bought a Garmin Foretrex 601 specifically for it to help I'm navigating and building a 150-acre piece of land I bought in the middle of a dense forest in northern Minnesota. Haven't used it there yet, but I'm not sure how well it will work based on my home and office testing. In particular, it just doesn't seem very accurate. By that I mean I can walk in one direction for as long as I want and then turn around and follow the same path, but the GPS will always show me a deviation from my original path, even when I know I'm in the same place. In the photo I've attached, for example; If I'm walking a trail that's mostly open (I see miles of clear sky and no tall buildings nearby), I can walk that trail on one side for 15 minutes, turn around, and walk on the same side of the trail, and if I looking at the GPS when it's zoomed in to 30ft and taking a screenshot when it's at its most accurate location (sometimes it was larger than others) it shows me a good 10-15ft from my original marker. It definitely keeps me close, but when moving through dense forest where I can't see more than 10-20 feet in one direction, imprecision can make a difference. so annoyed that I just have to take it off. I'm also wondering if wearing it on my wrist while walking (waving my arms) will affect the inaccurate readings, so I've ordered a better strap for it, which I'll test once it arrives. On the plus side, it appears to be very durable and well built. The specs are everything I want and need and I expect it to last a long time with proper care. I bought a screen protector to go with it and use 1100mah batteries in it.
