Hi, this is for all other people like me who are very sensitive to the smell of this new pillow. First a little background. I have chronic migraines and neck pain. In 2017 I had neck splicing surgery. So I've tried literally ALL types of pillows and unless you buy plain polyester you're going to smell. I slept on a similar one, except the filling was a mix of latex and polyester. It was awesome at first but flattened out and after buying a new one I found they had changed the filler. Not a happy camper! So I thought I'd try the memory foam blend. Here's what I did to COMPLETELY get rid of the smell of this pillow. If you check the FAQ section on their website, it says the inner pillow is washable! However, we have a "smart washing machine" with sensors that for some reason never went into a spin cycle when I tried to just wash it all the way through. So I took the padding off and put it in little zippered FINE mesh pockets. You can get them here on Amazon. They are not expensive. They are intended for washing delicate fabrics. Just make sure they are very fine gauge and have a piece of fabric holding the zipper in place so nothing slips through. I then washed the bags according to the instructions on the website. I think it was a sensitive cold temperature cycle. I used booster capsules but without fabric softener. I put the pouches in the dryer on low heat (took about 3-4 hours) to make sure they were completely dry! I washed the outer cover with the gainer capsules according to the instructions and now the whole pillow smells great! Was it painful and a little tiring? Yes! But also so many pillows to try and send back! Try it before you just send it back! I'm still trying to make it feel perfect, but I love the fabric of the outer cover and was so happy to find this memory foam blend pillow shape! Truly the best pillow shape for side sleepers!
