It uses the same 240v as the dryer (if you've switched to gas and still have that dryer's electrical circuit on the panel, you can plug it in). It doesn't matter if you only drive 40 miles a day and stay home with your car in the garage for 14 hours every night. But a little more and you'll want one of these babies. It is rated at 7.2kW, allowing you to take full advantage of the 6.6kW charger in your vehicle (Fiat 500e, Ford Focus, Honda Fit, Nissan LEAF).
