Poor adhesion, thin

Bought this green tape to patch small tears in the green tarp where the cover was separating from the fabric. I wipe down the tarp with 91% isopropyl alcohol and let it dry. I have a tape The tape does not stick properly to the tarpaulin. I removed the tape, dropped this brand and installed Gorilla (brand) black tape which works fantastic. The thickness of this tape is comparable to the thinnest tape you can find in retail.
