I used this on an old table I got from my parents. For 20 years it was used as our family dinner table. It has been through A LOT. The legs and apron had been painted a dark teal color in the 90's to match the color of my parents kitchen wall. I was able to apply the contact paper without sanding or prepping the wood. I wiped the legs and down with 409 and then some rubbing alcohol-- that's it! I did make sure the grain in the contact paper was going the same direction when I applied the next piece, but I did not spend the time to line the grain up. It was super easy and it looks so much better!
