Review on πŸ’¨ Upgraded 95-125 PSI Air Compressor Pressure Switch with Unloader Valve by David Dugas

Perfect replacement

I have a 125psi compressor that stopped turning on when the pressure dropped to a low of 95. I re-roofed a garage. Such a pain! Bought and delivered on the third day. I took a photo of the old ESC's wiring before I removed it so I know where the power cord and motor wires are. It took me a while to replace the old one because I had a leak on several air line threads. I removed the air ducts, cleaned the threads and wrapped them with new Teflon tape. Then I turned on the controller, which took very little time. I also took the opportunity to upgrade the power cord from 16 AWG to 12 AWG by cutting the plug end of a 30 foot 12 AWG extension cord at 10 feet. I put a new plug on the 20ft outlet so I now have a 20ft extension. I connected the 10 foot piece to the new regulator after crimping the fork terminals on the black, white and green wires so they make good contact under the mounting screws. The line, load, and ground screws are clearly marked on the controller. Started it up and checked the gauges to cut out at 125 and restart when the pressure dropped to 95. It ran without any adjustment. What a pleasant surprise! At this point the canopy was complete, so with a tank pressure of 125 I shut off the compressor and let it sit for a week. Thanks to the new Teflon tape, the loss of pressure was hardly noticeable this week. The compressor turned off the switch when my garage light was on and slowly started up when the compressor was the only load on the circuit. The problem wasn't a bad start or run capacitor. It was a lightweight power cord. Thanks to the new durable cable, the light is not dimmed even when the compressor is started. The breaker no longer trips when the compressor is running. My compressor is running better than ever since I bought it years ago!
